Dropseeds are annual or perennial grasses that range from 6 inches to over 6 feet tall. These grasses grow in waste places in diverse climates and soils of North America. One species is a forage grass that is commonly found in the southwestern states. Flowering occurs during the spring to autumn months depending on the latitude and climate. Continuous flowering occurs in subtropical Florida.
